How to test your Wi-Fi speed

If you want to check your Wi-Fi networks performance, there are two things that you will be checking.
The speed of your ADSL or cable modem and the speed of your Wi-Fi. You will need to do the test on a wired computer first and then one which is only connected on Wi-Fi. The difference should tell you how much performance is lost on Wi-Fi.
